Pole's Card
The Pole's Card confirms belonging to the Polish Nation and makes it easier to come to Poland. We explain who can get it and what it gives.
The Pole's Card (Karta Polaka) is a document confirming belonging to the Polish Nation (Art. 3 para. 1 of the Pole's Card Act). It is not Polish citizenship and does not by itself entitle you to cross the border or to settle in Poland (Art. 7).
A holder of the Pole's Card can, among other things, work in Poland without a work permit, run a business on the same terms as Polish citizens, study and use a 37% discount on train travel (Art. 6 para. 1). A national visa for using these rights is issued without a consular fee (Art. 5).
The card is granted by a consul, and citizens of Ukraine, Belarus and Russia and stateless persons from these countries can also apply to a voivode. The procedure is free of charge (Art. 12 para. 3).
