Visas and entry to Poland

Who needs a visa, who enters without one and how to count the days of stay. The rules on visas, invitations and visa-free travel in one place.

We handle cases remotely across Poland.

The rules for entering Poland depend on your citizenship, the purpose and the length of your stay. Citizens of the states listed in Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2018/1806 must have a visa. Citizens of the states in Annex II may enter without a visa for a stay of up to 90 days in a 180-day period (Art. 3 para. 1 and Art. 4 para. 1 of that Regulation).

A Schengen visa gives the right to stay for up to 90 days in a 180-day period. A national visa is for a longer stay - it is valid for one year at most (Art. 59 of the Act on Foreigners).

In this section we describe the work visa, the student visa, the invitation, visa-free travel and counting the 90/180 days. You will also find guides on work during visa-free travel, the residence application after entering without a visa, visa extension and visa refusal. If you plan a longer stay, see the residence card section.
