A permit for graduates

A temporary residence permit on other grounds is granted to a graduate of a Polish university who is looking for work in Poland or plans to start a business (Art. 186 para. 1 point 6 of the Act on Foreigners). It is granted once, for 9 months, directly after completing studies (Art. 190 point 3).

Conditions

  • a diploma of higher education from a Polish university (Art. 188 para. 2a),
  • health insurance or confirmation of coverage of treatment costs,
  • a place to live in Poland,
  • sufficient funds for living costs and return (Art. 188 para. 1a).

You submit the application in MOS no later than on the last day of your legal stay, e.g. before your permit for studies expires (Art. 105 para. 1).

Work after studies

A graduate of studies at a university based in Poland can work without a work permit and without a declaration if they stay in Poland legally, among others, on the basis of a temporary residence permit (Art. 3 para. 5 point 3 of the Act on the conditions for entrusting work to foreigners). When you find a job, you can apply for temporary residence and work.

Insurance

The right to healthcare services of a person who has completed studies expires 4 months after completing them (Art. 67 para. 5 point 2 of the Act on publicly funded healthcare services). Arrange new insurance - through work or voluntarily with the NFZ. See: health insurance.
